General description

Rabbit Plasma Fibrinogen Supplement is used for isolation, identification, confirmation, and enumeration of coagulase positive Staphylococcus aureus from food and other specimens. It is used with Baird-Parker Agar Base. The reduction of potassium tellurite concentration in RPF supplement results in S. aureus forming grey or black colonies, surrounded by an opaque halo of precipitation, i.e. the coagulase reaction.
