General description

Aging associated physiological changes and the pathological consequences of these changes make the elderly population vulnerable to many chronic diseases, including diabetes, cancers, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, etc. The complexity of the aging process has stimulated intensive research over the years. Aberrant glucose metabolism, elevated chronic inflammatory levels, progressive cellular senescence and other pathophysiological conditions have proven to be associated with the aging process. The MILLIPLEX® MAP Human Aging Panel 1 covers multifaceted biomarkers of aging-related conditions. Monitoring these novel biomarkers would help researchers to understand the basic mechanisms that drive aging and eventually lead to improved clinical interventions for extending the human health span. The MILLIPLEX® MAP Human Aging Panel 1 is an 10-plex kit to be used for the simultaneous quantification of any or all of the following analytes in serum, plasma, and in vitro samples: C-C motif chemokine 27 (CTACK/CCL27), Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF-21), Growth/differentiation factor 11 (GDF-11), Growth/differentiation factor 15 (GDF-15), Gonadoliberin (GnRH), Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Interleukin-10 (IL-10), Interleukin 18 (IL-18), Jagged 1 protein (Jag1), and Leptin. Note: IL-10 is recommended for in vitro sample use only; do not test IL-10 in serum or plasma samples.

Specificity

Cross-reactivity between the antibodies and any of the other analytes in this panel is non-detectable or negligible.

Application

For optimal sensitivity, use an overnight (16-18 hour) incubation. A two hour incubation can also be used. Serum and plasma samples require (recommend) a 1:2 dilution with Assay Buffer. Tissue culture supernatants may be run neat or appropriately diluted in control medium. Each well requires 25 μL of sample, standard or control. Analytes available:CTACK/CCL27, FGF-21, GDF-11, GDF-15, Gonadoliberin (GnRH), IL-6, IL-10, IL-18, Jagged 1 protein (Jag1), & Leptin
