selective and differential for coliforms

Application

A selective medium for the detection and enumeration of coliform organisms, especially the Coli-aerogenes-group in water, milk and other dairy products.

Preparation Note

Suspend 38.5 g in 1 litre of distilled water and let it sock for 5 minutes. Bring to boil and distribute into plates or tubes. Sterilization at 121°C for 15 minutes is optional, but if the medium is to be used on the same day of preparation it needs to be sterilized. But through sterilization may the medium is going to be turbid. No sterilization improves the recovery of the stressed microorganisms.

Other Notes

Recommended by the American Public Health Association (APHA); Studies on coliform bacteria

Footnote

We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
