A Labeling System Built for the Laboratory

Labeling in the laboratory is a critical process that is prone to errors and failures. Differences in labeling habits among lab mates creates an environment where samples cannot be found and/or identified. Handwriting on sample labels relies heavily on the neatness of individuals who oftentimes cannot match the small print or amount of text that labeling systems can. Additionally, harsh chemical solvents and extreme temperatures common to the laboratory environment can erase or degrade properly labeled sample information.

Current labeling systems on the market are in many cases built for applications outside of the laboratory and fail to address the needs of the laboratory end-user.

The MilliSentials™ Lab Labeling System provides a complete laboratory labeling solution with laboratory grade labels, a compact WIFI capable printer, and custom-designed laboratory labeling software. The laboratory labels are capable of withstanding temperatures from -196 °C (liquid nitrogen) to 100 °C (boiling water) and exposure to harsh chemical solvents. The labels can also be adapted across a wide range of laboratory vessels including microcentrifuge tubes, petri dishes, cell culture plates, and reagent bottles eliminating the need for purchasing multiple label sizes. The custom-built software features pre-constructed labels for laboratory vessels eliminating the guesswork in creating labels for specific tubes and vessel sizes within the software. Adding pre-defined information with one click, building, saving and sharing common labels as templates, and spreadsheet printing all provide easy ways to speed up your labeling process.

Can I print in colors?	No. In order to provide chemical resistance we cannot provide color printing options.
Can I autoclave these labels?	Yes. We recommend either liquid or dry cycles for 30 minutes holding time at 121°C.
Can I print from a spreadsheet?	Yes. Spreadsheet files must be attached in CSV format.
Can I save labels?	Yes, by building and saving a template within the software.
Do I have to connect this to a network to print?	Do I have to connect this to a network to print? No. You can setup the printer using a hardwired (USB) connection. You can also print using an ethernet or wireless network connection. See the user guide for setup instructions.
Can I print using a mobile device?	Yes. The mobile device (Android/iOS) must be connected to the same network as the printer and host computer running the software. A mobile device can also be used to set up the printer. See user guide for instructions.
Can I adjust the number of lines and font size?	Yes. Two formats exist for each vessel size.
