General description

Phosphomolybdic acid hydrate is a heteropolyacid hydrate. It participates in the synthesis of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2)-reduced graphene oxide (RGO) composites. Phosphomolybdic acid is one of the components of the Goldner′s trichrome stain used for tissue staining.

Application

Employed in preparation of a hybrid organic-inorganic, electroactive material with potential application as a cation-insertion electrode in batteries.
Reactant for preparation of:
  • Catalysts for the nitration of aromatic compounds
  • Highly dispersed MoOx/CNTs (carbon nanotubes) as a support for Pt catalysts
  • Reduced molybdophosphate mixed-valence Keggin clusters
  • Polyoxometalate (POM) hybrid materials based on Keggin polyanion building blocks
  • Luminescent Langmuir-Blodgett films
  • Anchored Wilkinson catalyst
A precursor to hybrid organic-inorganic based molecular batteries with applications as cation-insertion electrodes.
