Biochem/physiol Actions

El colágeno tipo I α 1 (COL1A1) desempeña un papel clave en la quimiorresistencia y puede actuar como diana terapéutica. Está involucrado en el cáncer de ovario (OV) resistente al carboplatino. El COL1A1 actúa como oncogén en el desarrollo del cáncer colorrectal (CCR). Las mutaciones hereditarias dominantes del gen COL1A1 provocan trastornos del tejido conjuntivo como la osteogénesis imperfecta (OI).

General description

En los seres humanos, el colágeno tipo I es el colágeno más abundante y ampliamente expresado. Este heterotrímero contiene dos cadenas alfa 1 (I) y una cadena alfa 2 (I). El colágeno tipo I α 1 (COL1A1), un componente importante del colágeno tipo I, codifica las cadenas de pro-α 1 del colágeno tipo I. Tiene motivos de tripéptidos de Gly-Xaa-Yaa repetidos. La cadena proteica alfa-1(I) del colágeno es un miembro de la superfamilia del complejo del colágeno. El COL1A1 tiene un dominio del factor von Willebrand tipo C (vWFC), una repetición de triple hélice del colágeno y un dominio C-terminal de colágeno fibrilar (COLF).
