Application
Adding supplements of amino acids to media both stimulates growth and prolongs the viability of cells in culture. MEM Non-essential Amino Acid Solution supplement adds nutrients and reduces the biosynthetic burden on cell in vitro.
MEM Non-essential Amino Acid Solution has been used in Dulbecco′s minimum essential media for the maintenance of mammalian cells. It has been supplemented in medium prepared for oocyte maturation.

Biochem/physiol Actions
Studies on hybridoma culture shows that addition of Eagle′s minimum essential medium (MEM) non-essential amino acid leads to enhanced membrane stability, during death phase of the culture. This also results in increased antibody secretion during death phase, and decreased lactate concentration.
General description
Eagle′s minimum essential medium (MEM) is a synthetic culture medium, which is composed of balanced salt solutions, and amino acids and vitamins. These components are essential for the growth of cultured cells. MEM might be supplemented with non-essential amino acids, to make MEM non-essential amino acid solution. The non-essential amino acids include L-alanine, L-asparagine, L-aspartic acid, L-glycine, L-serine, L-proline and L-glutamic acid.

To understand the heterogeneous behaviors of individual cancer cells, it is essential to investigate gene expression levels as well as their divergence between different individual cells. Recent advances in next-generation sequencing-related technologies have enabled us to conduct a single-cell RNA-Seq

Flaviviruses include the most prevalent and medically challenging viruses. Persistent infection with flaviviruses of epithelial cells and hepatocytes that do not undergo cell death is common. Here, we report that, in epithelial cells, up-regulation of autophagy following flavivirus infection markedly
