General description
Tetramethylrhodamine methyl ester perchlorate (TMRM) is a membrane-permeant, cationic, fluorescent dye that can label mitochondria and mark embryonic stem cell/induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. It is useful for the isolation of mature cardiomyocytes.
Application
Tetramethylrhodamine methyl ester perchlorate (TMRM) has been used as a sensitive probe for the detection of mitochondrial membrane potential.

Histone deacetylases have central functions in regulating stress defenses and development in plants. However, the knowledge about the deacetylase functions is largely limited to histones, although these enzymes were found in diverse subcellular compartments. In this study, we determined the

The association of desmin with the α-crystallin Β-chain (αΒ-crystallin; encoded by CRYAB), and the fact that mutations in either one of them leads to heart failure in humans and mice, suggests a potential compensatory interplay between the two in cardioprotection.
