General description

Poly (sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS) a cation exchange polyelectrolyte. PSS may be used to produce mechanically stable and very reproducible coatings.

Application

Reduction of graphite oxide in the presence of PSS has been reported for the synthesis of polymer-coated graphitic nanoplatelets. Interaction of PSS with metal ions has been studied. PSS combined with Nafion has been reported to be used a mixed coating of Bismuth film electrodes.

Features and Benefits

Anionic polyelectrolyte.
