Application

S-(4-nitrophenyl) methanethioate is an effective CO releasing molecule (CORM) developed by the lab of Sarah Tasker as part of a series of thioformate based CORMs called thioCORMates. p-NO2 phenyl thioformate generates CO rapidly for faster reactions that require instantaneous on-demand generation of CO. using only a simple amine to activate it.

This and the other thioCORMates are cost effective CORMs that when activated with simple amines, can be used to generate a near quantitative amount of CO safely without the usage of gas cylinders. These are compatible with a variety of carbonylation reactions, as well as existing COware glassware and components.
