General description

Our monodisperse, non-porous silica powder is a white powder composed of speherical particles, precisely engineered to achieve a monodisperse particle size of 5 µm with 99.99% purity. The microparticles do not contain any internal porosity or void spaces, making their surfaces impermeable to fluids or gases.

Application

Monodisperse, non-porous silica particles have several applications in various research areas including drug delivery, molecular imaging, and environmental remediation. Owing to their stable chemical structure, ease of surface modification, and affinity toward various biomolecules, silica microparticles are an attractive platform for bioconjugation of drugs, proteins, DNA, and other biomarkers. Consequently, non-porous silica particles and their bioconjugates are used in biomedical applications for delivering or isolating drugs, proteins, polynucleotides, and more. Bioconjugation of non-porous silica often facilitates imaging techniques including optical imaging (fluorescence and bioluminescence), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), radionuclide imaging, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, photoacoustic imaging, and Raman imaging.,Apart from these applications, these monodisperse particles are also used in analytical applications, such as the stationary phase in columns for advanced, high-performance liquid chromatography.
