Gene Information

human ... CXCR7(57007)

General description

Anti-CXCR7 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CXCR7 protein.
CXC- Chemokine receptor 7 (CXCR7) protein is a seven-transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR). It is expressed in the heart tissues, fetal hematopoietic cells, embryonic neuronal, and activated endothelium. CXCR7 gene is mapped on the human chromosome at 2q37.3.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human CXCR7.

Immunogen Range: 311-360

Biochem/physiol Actions

CXC- Chemokine receptor 7 (CXCR7) protein interacts with chemokine ligands CXCL11 and CXCL12. This protein shuffles between the plasma membrane and endosomal compartments irrespective of the presence of a ligand such as CXCL11 and 12. CXCR7 protein plays a role in cell survival and cell adhesion to the endothelium. This protein tends to regulate the activity of CXCR4.

The stromal cell-derived factor-1/CXCL12 chemokine engages the CXCR4 and CXCR7 receptors and regulates homeostatic and pathologic processes, including organogenesis, leukocyte homeostasis, and tumorigenesis. Both receptors are widely expressed in mammalian cells, but how they cooperate to respond to CXCL12 is

It is known that the chemokine receptor CXCR7 (RDC1) can be engaged by both chemokines CXCL12 (SDF-1) and CXCL11 (I-TAC), but the exact expression pattern and function of CXCR7 is controversial. CXCR7 expression seems to be enhanced during pathological inflammation

CXCR7 (RDC1), the recently discovered second receptor for CXCL12, is phylogenetically closely related to chemokine receptors, but fails to couple to G-proteins and to induce typical chemokine receptor mediated cellular responses. The function of CXCR7 is controversial. Some studies suggest
