General description

The Mouse bFGF (Fibroblast Growth Factor basic) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse bFGF in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

Immunogen

Recombinant Mouse basic-FGF

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
Mouse bFGF ELISA Kit has been used for evaluating the concentration of fibroblast growth factor (basic) in samples by ELISA.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Fibroblast growth factor (basic) (bFGF), also known as fibroblast growth factor 2 induces neuronal proliferation, neurite outgrowth, chemotaxis, cell adhesion and migration. bFGF derived from airway smooth muscle cells plays a key role in the formation of lymphocyte-derived membrane conduits for intracellular communications. FGF2 basically functions in the formation of new blood vessels and promotes angiogenesis in cancer cells and chronic inflammatory diseases. FGF2 promotes prostate cancer by causing genome instability.
