General description

TERGITOL TMN 6 is a low-cost and easily available biodegradable nonionic surfactant. The hydrophobic part of this low-toxic surfactant is made up of alkyl groups and its hydrophilic part is composed of chains of oxyethylene molecules. This amphiphilic surfactant is soluble in water and polar organic solvents.

Application

TERGITOL TMN 6 is suitable for use:
  • in the slurry after ball milling to improve its wetting behavior to prepare alumina sheets
  • in the cloud point extraction process to extract organic compounds like natural estrogens E1 and E2 from urine samples
  • as an emulsifier in the optimization of the ultrasound-assisted surfactant-enhanced emulsification microextraction (UASEME) procedure to promote the extraction of benzimidazole anthelmintics
  • in the preparation of blood mimicking fluid (BMF) mixture

Biochem/physiol Actions

TERGITOL TMN 6 can be used as a synergistic cloud point extraction (SCPE) extractant. It is suitable for use in foam control, chemical mechanical planarization slurry, waterborne emulsion synthesis, and leveling.

Features and Benefits

  • Superior wetting agent
  • Serve as a penetrant & dispersant
  • Narrow gel range
  • Acts as silicone emulsifier
