Biochem/physiol Actions

WSP5 is a cell-permeable fluoresceinyl pyridine disulfide compound that acts as a highly selective, fast- and time-dependent nucleophilic substitution–cyclization-based H2S sensitive fluorescent turn-on live cells probe (60-fold; ƛex = 502 nm & ƛem = 525 nm; ɸ = 0.20 & a detection limit = 47 nM). WSP5 is reported to function over biological pH ranges and insensitive towards bio-thiols, various reactive sulfur species and esterases.
