Here we present that graphene oxide (GO) can act as a terminal electron acceptor for heterotrophic, metal-reducing, and environmental bacteria. The conductance and physical characteristics of bacterially converted graphene (BCG) are comparable to other forms of chemically converted graphene (CCG).
