General description

Readily couples biotin to primary amino groups of proteins under mild alkaline conditions. Ideally suited for labeling antibodies, hormones, or other polypeptide molecules containing lysine residues. Extended spacer arm provides maximum accessibility of biotin for avidin conjugates.
Water solubility is extremely convenient, eliminating the need to dissolve the reagent in an organic solvent such as dimethylformamide (DMF) and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) prior to use.
