Application

Lithium chloride has been used:
  • in the preparation of wash buffer for chromatin immunoprecipitation
  • in 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay
  • to treat aged myoblast as glycogen synthase kinase (GSK) inhibitor to analyse its effect on wingless/tailess (wnt) signaling

May be used to selectively precipitate RNA.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Lithium chloride has the ability to block glycogen synthase kinase (GSK). It may also possess anti-inflammatory effects at low and non-toxic concentrations.

Amyloid precursor protein (APP) undergoes post-translational modification, including O- and N-glycosylation, ubiquitination, and phosphorylation as it traffics through the secretory pathway. We have previously reported that copper promotes a change in the cellular localization of APP. We now report that
