General description

A new calibration material suitable for multiple LC/MS applications in clinical and diagnostic testing and endocrinology. An immediate precursor to cortisol, 11-deoxycortisol, or cortodoxone, is measured in whole blood by LC-MS/MS for newborn screening of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) and in serum or plasma by LC-MS/MS for determination of several diseases including Cushing′s syndrome, pituitary tumor, and Addison′s disease.

Application

  • Structural Analysis of Hyaluronan: The study used a mixed solvent system including 1,4-dioxane for the structural analysis of hyaluronan oligosaccharides, forming double-helical duplexes. This research is significant for pharmaceutical applications, particularly in drug delivery systems and regenerative medicine, demonstrating the solvent′s role in facilitating biochemical interactions (Kolaříková et al., 2024).

Recent studies have shown that chronic hypoxia exposure impairs reproduction in fish by interfering with endocrine function, although the mechanisms of endocrine disruption remain unclear. The effects of chronic exposure (4 or 10 weeks) to hypoxia (dissolved oxygen, DO: 1.7
