[(dihydroindenyl)oxy]acetic acid (DIOA) acts as a potent inhibitor of potassium/chloride (K⁺–Cl⁻) co-transporter. It does not exert its effects on bumetanimide-sensitive [Na⁺,K⁺,Cl^-]-cotransport system.
