General description

2-Hydroxyibuprofen is a well-known human metabolite of ibuprofen. It finds applications as a nonsteroidal and anti-inflammatory drug.

Application

2-Hydroxyibuprofen may be used as a reference standard in the determination of 2-hydroxyibuprofen in urine samples using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultrasound-assisted emulsification microextraction (USAEME) with ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC−MS/MS).
