General description

SeQuant ZIC®-cHILIC is designed for excellent HPLC and LC-MS of polar hydrophilic compounds. This zwitterionic stationary phase with phosphorylcholine functional group provides you with complementary selectivity for easier method development for substances that have been difficult to separate by previous types of HPLC columns operated in reversed-phase or HILIC mode. The column dimension of 100 mm length x 2.1 mm ID is the best choice for the separation of polar compounds using a UHPLC or optimized HPLC Instrument providing low dwell volumes.SeQuant ZIC®-cHILIC HPLC columns provide complementary selectivity to optimize separations of polar hydrophilic compounds. The columns carry a novel densely bonded, 1:1 charge-balanced phosphorylcholine functional group. As with all true zwitterionic stationary phases, straightforward and reproducible separations are achieved by hydrophilic partitioning combined with weak ionic interactions. The more accessible positive charges of SeQuant ZIC®-cHILIC columns enable selectivity tuning in chromatography through altered interaction with anionic and cationic molecular moieties. This can be favorable in several situations, for example in the separation of labile metal complexes or highly polar and multiply charged aminoglycosides. Their extraordinary stability and minimized bleed also make SeQuant ZIC®-cHILIC columns the preferred choice for many LC-MS applications.Learn more about the Supelco HPLC Column portfolio and Method development:Brochure: HPLC and UHPLC Column Selection Guide Brochure: A Practical Guide to HPLC - Method Development Guide

Articles

This article evaluates different phase chemistries for stationary phases in Hydrophilic Interaction Liquid Chromatography (HILIC) and uses multivariate analysis for classification based on chemical modification.

Protocols

ZIC®-cHILIC is a densely bonded zwitterionic stationary phase with phosphorylcholine functional groups covalently attached to silica.

HILIC separation is an alternative that permits sensitive MS detection and without the use of ion-pair reagents.
