Methiothepin mesylate salt has been used to explore the relationship between circulating cells and the niche.[2] It has also been used in serotonin (5-HT) and antagonists in vivo bioassays[3] and in in vivo antagonist and lipopolysaccharide stimulations.[4]

Methiothepin mesylate salt is a 5-HT1, 5-HT6, 5-HT7 serotonin receptor antagonist, which blocks serotonin autoreceptors.
