Methoxyacetic acid is the major metabolite of ester phthalates widely used in industry as gelling, viscosity and stabilizer reagents.

Application

Methoxyacetic acid was used in zebrafish embryotoxicity test to evaluate chemical toxicity after exposure of the complete vertebrate embryo during embryogenesis in ovo.
