Application

1,2,4,5-Benzenetetracarboxylic acid is extensively used as a ligand in the synthesis of a wide range of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and coordination polymers.[1][2][3][4] It can also be used to prepare supramolecular hydrogels by synthesizing gelators reacting 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid with 4-hydroxy pyridine.[5][6]
