General description

A Certified Spiking Solution® suitable for use in LC/MS or GC/MS applications in clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, urine drug testing, prescription monitoring or pharmaceutical research. Valproic acid, sold under trade names including Depakote®, Valparin, or Stavzor®, is an antiepileptic drug and mood stabilizer. The drug is prescribed for treatment of epilepsy, bipolar disorder, migraine headaches, and depression.

Application

  • The prenatal use of agmatine prevents social behavior deficits in VPA-exposed mice by activating the ERK/CREB/BDNF signaling pathway: This study explores the neuroprotective effects of agmatine against Valproic acid-induced behavioral deficits in mice, highlighting Valproic acid′s role in epigenetic modifications and its potential use in developmental neurotoxicology research (Chen et al., 2024).
