General description

Cardiotoxins, which are highly basic peptides, interact with negatively charged lipids on membranes. While the presence of Lysine residues is crucial for their activity, cardiotoxins demonstrate varying effects on different cells, indicating selective binding to certain cell types.

Application

Cardiotoxin, Naja pallida has been used:
  • to inject into the TA of the 4-month-old dystrophic mice to address whether ILA treatment could modulate muscle regeneration
  • to induce a skeletal muscle injury into the right TA muscle
  • to induce muscle regeneration

Warning

Toxicity: Harmful (C)

Reconstitution

Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 months at -20°C.
