Application

Antimicrobial and Mutagenic Activity Research: N,N-Dimethyloctylamine is used as a versatile organic synthesis reagent used in the synthesis of quaternary diammonium salts derivatives of 1,4:3,6-dianhydro-l-iditol (Sikora et al., 2022).

Antibacterial Membrane Synthesis: In the synthesis and characterization of cellulose acetate reverse osmosis membranes, which demonstrated excellent antibacterial properties. N,N-Dimethyloctylamine could be used in modifying these materials to improve their performance and durability, particularly in water purification systems (Li et al., 2019).

Chromatographic Performance Improvement: Calabuig-Hern and aacute;ndez et al. assessed the performance of amines, including possibly N,N-Dimethyloctylamine, as silanol suppressors in reversed-phase liquid chromatography. This application underscores the compound′s role in enhancing chromatographic techniques, which are pivotal in analytical and preparative chemistry (Calabuig-Hern and aacute;ndez et al., 2016).
