General description

DAX-1 is an orphan nuclear receptor and is required for the normal development of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-gonadal axis formation. Defects in DAX-1 are the cause of X-linked adrenal hypoplasia congenital (XL-AHC); also known as X-linked Addison disease (AHX). DAX-1 also has a role in the development of the embryo and in the maintenance of embryonic stem cell pluripotency by acting as a negative regulator of Oct3/4 in ES cells.

Immunogen

Linear peptide corresponding to Human DAX-1 (amino acids 135-166).

Application

Anti-DAX-1, clone 2F4, has been shown to work in Immunocytochemical (Lehmann et al., 2009) and Immunohistochemical (Ehrlund et al., 2013) analysis.

This Anti-DAX-1, clone 2F4 Antibody is validated for use in Western Blotting and Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry for the detection of DAX-1.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in a Dax-1 overexpressing HEK293 transfected cell line. Western Blot Analysis: A 1:1000 dilution of this antibody detected DAX-1 in a DAX-1 overexpressing HEK293 transfected cell line.

We previously used microarrays to show that high expression of DHRS3, NROB1, and CYP26A1 predicts favorable NB outcomes. Here, we investigated whether expression of these genes was associated with suppression of NB cell (SK-N-SH, NB12, and TGW) growth. We assessed
