Application

Benzaldehyde may be used as a reference standard for the determination of benzaldehyde, the toxic oxidation product of benzyl alcohol used as a preservative in injectable formulations of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, diclofenac, and piroxicam, and in vitamin B-complex injection solutions by capillary gas chromatography.
