General description

Carbofuran belongs to N-methylcarbamate class of chemicals used to control soil-dwelling and foliar-feeding insects on agricultural crops. Carbofuran acts by inhibiting cholinesterase enzyme activity.

Application

Carbofuran may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte:
  • In well water samples by high-performance liquid chromatography employing a variable-wavelength ultraviolet detector set.
  • In fruits and vegetables by monoclonal enzyme immunoassay and high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection.
