General description

2-Ethoxyethanol is an organic compound, widely used as a component or solvent for nitrocellulose and in a variety of dyes, inks, cleaning agents, resins, paints, varnishes, etc. It is also used for increasing the stability of emulsions.

Application

2-Ethoxyethanol may be used as an extraction solvent for the quantification and analysis of algal lipids from algae samples using normal-phase high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) coupled in parallel to an evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) and quadrupole mass spectrometer(QMS).
