Immunogen

The immunogen for anti-DGAT2 antibody: synthetic peptide derected towards the C terminal of human DGAT2

Biochem/physiol Actions

Dgat2 is an essential acyltransferase that catalyzes the terminal and only committed step in triacylglycerol synthesis by using diacylglycerol and fatty acyl CoA as substrates. It is required for synthesis and storage of intracellular triglycerides. It probably plays a central role in cytosolic lipid accumulation.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: LMSGGICPVNRDTIDYLLSKNGSGNAIIIVVGGAAESLSSMPGKNAVTLK

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Background: Excessive fructose consumption causes hepatic lipid accumulation via increased triglyceride (TG) synthesis, leading to the development and progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NALFD). Naringin, a flavanone glycoside found in citrus fruit, has antioxidant and hypolipidemic properties. Therefore, the
