General description

Yeast extract is the water-soluble portion of autolyzed yeast, often used in culture media. Yeast extract contains a mixture of amino acids, peptides, water soluble vitamins and carbohydrates.

Application

SelectYeast Extract, EZMix powder has been used as a component of synthetic municipal wastewater fed to sequencing batch reactor (SBR) for biomass production. It has also been used as a supplement to super broth for the transformation of 5α-competent E. coli cells.
It is also suitable for use as nutritional source in microbial media.
Yeast extract is used as a bacteriological media component for a variety of microorganisms and molecular genetics applications.

Features and Benefits

Select Yeast Extract EZMix powder provides:
  • Granulated, dust-free format for safer handling and faster mixing
  • Easy scale-up using larger package sizes

Other Notes

Water soluble portion of autolyzed yeast with intact B-complex vitamins. Yeast extract is a mixture of amino acids, peptides, water soluble vitamins and carbohydrates and can be used as additive for culture media.
