Analysis Note
This application demonstrates the suitability of SLB®-IL60i for the analysis of compounds containing an active group that can hydrogen bond, specifically volatile alcohols. SLB-IL60i yields good selectivity and peak shape for compounds in this polarity range. On traditional PDMS and some wax phases, these compounds tend to tail due to secondary interaction with the fused silica capilary. This application also illustrates the low bleed of this phase during a temperature programmed run, and the subsequent suitability for MS detection.
