General description

N,N′-Ethylenebis(stearamide) (EBS) is a synthetic wax that has fatty amide groups that can interact with the surface of a variety of nanoparticles. It can be used for a wide range of applications such as lubricants, activators and dispersing agents that reduce the friction in the system and increase the rate of processing.[1][2]

Application

EBS can be used to improve the dispersion of halloysite nanotube into a polylactic acid matrix, which can be potentially used as biodegradable plastic.[1][3] EBS may also be used as a lubricant to improve the strength of high density polyethylene (HDPE)/wood composites.[4][5]
Processing lubricants, release agents, antistats, pigment dispersing aids, oil-based antifoaming agent and additive to coatings.
