General description
Dowex MAC-3 contains carboxylic acid as functional group and is selective for Cu and Fe. The resin has larger exchange capacity and large particle size.
Application
Weakly acidic cation exchanger for water treatment, dealkalization, purification of antibiotics, pharmaceuticals and amino acids, etc. The macroporous matrix gives the resin good resistance to osmotic shock, while maintaining a high regeneration efficiency.
Dowex MAC-3 was used in the separation and pre-concentration of metal ions in alcohol. It was also used as packaging material in chromatographic columns for purification.
