Oxalic acid is a dicarboxylic acid used in the synthesis of various synthetic intermediates and organic compounds. Some of the examples are:
  • It is used as a reducing agent in the preparation of graphene from graphene oxide.
  • It can be used as a ligand in the synthesis of several organometallic complexes and metal-organic frameworks.
  • Additionally, it can also be used in textile treatment, metal treatment, tanning and bleaching leather.
