Gene Information

human ... SLC12A1(6557)

Specificity

Recognizes rat Sodium, Potassium, Chloride Cotransporter 2 (NKCC2, BSC1, CCC2). The immunogen shows no significant sequence homology with NKCC1 or TSC.

SPECIES REACTIVITIES: The immunogen sequence is 100% conserved in mouse, 87% in human and rabbit. Reactivity with other species has not been confirmed.

Immunogen

A 15 amino acid peptide sequence near the C-terminus of rat NKCC2 (Haas et al. 1987; Gamba et al. 1994; Simon et al. 1996; Mount et al. 1995; Igarashi et al. 1995; Mount et al. 1998). The immunogen peptide is available (catalog number AG205) for use in pre-absortion controls.

Application

Anti-Na+/K+/Cl-Cotransporter 2 Antibody detects level of Na+/K+/Cl-Cotransporter 2 & has been published & validated for use in ELISA & WB.

X-linked nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (X-NDI) is a rare congenital disease caused by inactivating mutations of the vasopressin type-2 receptor (AVPR2), characterized by impaired renal concentrating ability, dramatic polyuria, polydipsia and risk of dehydration. The disease, which still lacks a cure

The Na-K-2Cl cotransporter 2 (NKCC2) was thought to be kidney specific. Here we show expression in the brain hypothalamo-neurohypophyseal system (HNS), wherein upregulation follows osmotic stress. The HNS controls osmotic stability through the synthesis and release of the neuropeptide hormone
