Application

Triethylamine can be used as:
  • An initiator for cracking heptane to yield ethylene and propylene.
  • A catalyst to synthesize polysubstituted dihydrothiophenes via Domino ring-opening/recyclization reactions.
  • A base in the Swern oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds.
  • A solvent in the direct one-pot reductive imination of nitroarenes with aldehydes to synthesize imines.
