Gene Information

General description

Ibuprofen belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, widely used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain and several forms of arthritis.

Application

Ibuprofen sodium salt may be used as a model drug to study the intercalation mechanism via ion exchange reaction between ibuprofen and a biocompatible hydrotalcite compound.
Ibuprofen sodium salt may be used as an analytical reference standard for the qualification of the analyte in wastewaters using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor that has greater activity against COX-1 than against COX-2.
