General description

N,N-Dimethyldodecylamine N-oxide is a non-denaturing zwitterionic surfactant with a critical micelle concentration (CMC) of approximately 1 mM. It is used to solubilize proteins and to study the conformation and molecular interactions of macromolecules.

Application

N,N-Dimethyldodecylamine N-oxide has been used in the cell lysis and resuspension of cell pellets for western blot analysis.

The F(1)F(o)-ATP synthases of alkaliphilic bacteria exhibit latent ATPase activity, and for the thermoalkaliphile Bacillus sp. strain TA2.A1, this activity is intrinsic to the F(1) moiety. To study the mechanism of ATPase inhibition, we developed a heterologous expression system in

Several techniques rely on electron-nuclear interactions to boost the polarization of nuclear spins in the solid phase. Averaging out of anisotropic interactions as a result of molecular tumbling strongly reduces the applicability of such hyperpolarization approaches in liquids. Here we
