Gene Information

human ... ZC3H14(79882)

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human ZC3H14

Application

Anti-ZC3H14 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 1μg/mL.

Biochem/physiol Actions

ZC3H14 gene encodes a ubiquitously expressed evolutionarily conserved Cys(3)His zinc finger protein that belongs to poly(A)-binding protein family. The encoded protein plays an evolutionarily conserved role in regulating the poly(A) tail length in neurons.Poly(A)-binding proteins also impacts the gene expression by controlling mRNA stability, nuclear export, and translation.Mutation in ZC3H14 gene leads to brain disorder occur due to disrupted normal development and impairs neural function in humans and drosophila.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: KFPSPPLPIFLPPEPVDLGSITSSSCSLNELDNISHLLRKISADINEIKG

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

RNA (New York, N.Y.), 20(5), 681-688 (2014-03-29)
The ZC3H14 gene, which encodes a ubiquitously expressed, evolutionarily conserved, nuclear, zinc finger polyadenosine RNA-binding protein, was recently linked to autosomal recessive, nonsyndromic intellectual disability. Although studies have been carried out to examine the function of putative orthologs of ZC3H14

The human ZC3H14 gene encodes an evolutionarily conserved Cys(3)His zinc finger protein that binds specifically to polyadenosine RNA and is thus postulated to modulate post-transcriptional gene expression. Expressed sequence tag (EST) data predicts multiple splice variants of both human and

Here we report a human intellectual disability disease locus on chromosome 14q31.3 corresponding to mutation of the ZC3H14 gene that encodes a conserved polyadenosine RNA binding protein. We identify ZC3H14 mRNA transcripts in the human central nervous system, and we
