General description

The Eppendorf Tubes BioBased in the sizes 5.0 mL, 15 mL, 25 mL, 50 mL open up new doors to make laboratory work more sustainable without jeopardizing experimental results. The plastiuc used in these tubes are derived from second-generation biobased polymer with 90 % of the feedstock attributed to renewable resources (i.e. waste and residues from vegetable oil refining or waste cooking oil) avoiding the use of fossil fuel-based petroleum toreduce the product-related environmental footprint of these tubes. "General Quality Certificates" on compliance with standards and general quality requirements, product-specific and lot-specific purity certificates as well as "ACT labels" (an independent environmental impact factor assessment through non-profit My Green Lab) certify the well-known premium product quality you can expect from Eppendorf Tubes, while helping reduce your laboratory environmental footprint. Like Eppendorf tubes made of virgin polypropylene, these tubes are also your solution for cell culture and cell biology applications as well as for sample preparation protocols in microbiology and molecular biology laboratories. Whether centrifugation, mixing, or other applications, the Eppendorf Tubes BioBased in 5.0 mL, 15 mL, 25 mL and 50 mL – with screw cap – will complete your workflows in an excellent way. Additionally, they support you in your efforts to be more sustainable in the laboratory.

Features and Benefits

  • Support you in achieving your sustainability goals in the lab, reduce your lab environmental footprint! Produced from second-generation biobased with 90% of the feedstockattributed to renewable resources (i.e. waste and residues from vegetable oilrefining or waste cooking oil), avoiding the use of fossil fuel-based petroleum
  • Eppendorf production facility is ISCC PLUS(International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) certified, confirmingthe raw materials used at the facility are “bio-circular”. Enables traceabilityalong the entire supply chain.
  • ACT (Accountability, Consistency, and Transparency) Label - an independent environmental impact factorassessment through non-profit My Green Lab
  • Lot-specific purity certificates from an independent laboratory can be downloaded from Eppendorf website
  • General Quality Certificates on compliance with standards and general Eppendorf quality requirements
  • Ensured highest sample integrity by using premium USP class 6 raw material and no use of slip agents, plasticizers, and biocides during manufacturing
  • Cap with flattened and grooved sides supports a user-friendly ergonomic handling, enables a stable upright positioning, and minimizes contamination risk.
  • Enables reliable and safe labelling due to a large writing area on the tube and due to a flat and light-colored cap
  • High g-Safe centrifugation stability up to 25,000 x g
  • Precise dimensions enable maximum compatibility with centrifuge rotors, mixers and shakers
  • Optimal sample and pellet visibility
