1,2-Bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane (dmpe) is a polydentate phosphine ligand. Synthesis of 1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane has been reported. It reacts with ZrCl2 to afford ZrCl4(dmpe)2 complexes.

1,2-Bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane (dmpe) may be employed as ligand in the preparation of cis-arylmethyl(dmpe) nickel(II) complexes.
