일반 설명
NH4Cl is highly corrosive, colorless salt which dissolves readily in water. It crystallizes out of aqueous solution in octahedrons, in a feathery array, forming a fibrous mass of crystals. It sublimes at 340oC. Ammonium chloride acts as catalyst in one-pot,Biginelli condensation reactions of aldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and urea or thiourea. Inorganic ammonium ions, NH4+, have been reported as efficient catalysts for the aldol condensation of carbonyl compounds.NH4Cl has been reportedly used to enhance the hydrolysis rate and decrease the activation energy of magnesium hydride during hydrogen generation.

In natural environments such as atmospheric aerosols, organic compounds coexist with inorganic salts but, until recently, were not thought to interact chemically. We have recently shown that inorganic ammonium ions, NH(4)(+), act as catalysts for acetal formation from glyoxal, a

The aldol condensation reaction is an organic reaction introduced by Charles Wurtz, who first prepared the β-hydroxy aldehyde from acetaldehdye in 1872.
