General description

A stable-labeled internal standard suitable for quantitation of MDA levels in urine, serum, or plasma by LC/MS or GC/MS for urine drug testing, clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, or isotope dilution methods. MDA, or 3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine, is an illicit recreational drug of the amphetamine and phenethylamine classes. Also known as tenamphetamine, MDA is abused for its psychedelic and hallucinogenic effects, similar to those of MDMA or "ecstasy".

Application


  • GC-MS analysis of amphetamines and cathinones in oral fluid: Utilizing a one-step derivatization-extraction method, this study employs (±)-MDA-D₅ as an internal standard in the rapid analysis of eleven amphetamines and cathinones by GC-MS, emphasizing its role in forensic and clinical toxicology (Mohamed, 2017).

  • Simultaneous measurement of MDMA and its metabolites in urine: A sensitive gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method incorporates (±)-MDA-D₅ to simultaneously quantify MDMA, MDEA, and their metabolites in human urine, proving crucial for pharmacokinetic and metabolic studies in clinical settings (Pirnay et al., 2006).
