General description

An analytical reference standard suitable in cannabinoid testing, clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, or urine drug testing by LC-MS/MS or GC/MS. Also known as THC acid, 11-nor-9-Carboxy-Δ9-THC is the main secondary metabolite of THC found in urine or blood of cannabis users.

Application

  • Advanced analytical method development: A study by DeGregorio et al. introduces a Liquid Chromatography High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (LC-HRMS) bioanalytical method for quantifying cannabinoids, including (−)-11-nor-9-Carboxy-Δ?-THC, in whole blood. This method is pivotal for determining recent cannabis use, offering significant advancements in forensic toxicology and drug testing (DeGregorio et al., 2020).
  • Cannabinoid serum analysis: Gottardo et al. present the first application of atmospheric-pressure chemical ionization gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry for the determination of cannabinoids in serum. This groundbreaking technique enhances the detection and quantification of cannabinoids, including (−)-11-nor-9-Carboxy-Δ?-THC, facilitating deeper insights into cannabinoid pharmacokinetics and toxicology (Gottardo et al., 2019).

This paper describes the determination of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and its metabolite, 11-nor-Δ⁹-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid (THC-COOH) in oral fluid using solid-phase extraction and liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectral detection (LC-MS-MS) and its application to proficiency specimens. The method employs collection of
