General description

Anti-Actin (Ab-1), mouse monoclonal, clone JLA20, recognizes the ~ 42 kDa α-, β-, and γ isoforms of actin. It is validated for Western blotting and immunofluorescence.
Mouse monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with the specified immunogen and fusing splenocytes with NS-1 mouse myeloma cells supplied as ascites. Recognizes the ~42 kDa α-, β- and γ-isoforms of actin. Supplied with goat anti-mouse IgM conjugated to horseradish peroxidase.
Recognizes the ~42 kDa α-, β-, and γ isoforms of actin. Useful as a positive control antibody.

    Warning

Toxicity: Multiple Toxicity Values, refer to MSDS (O)

    Physical form

100 µl ascites diluted in 5 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.5 and 5 µg anti-mouse IgM, HRP conjugate supplied at 100 µg/ml in 0.05 M sodium phosphate, 50% glycerol.

    Reconstitution

Following initial thaw, aliquot ascites and freeze (-20°C).

    Analysis Note

    Positive Control
    All animal cell lines

    Other Notes

Actin is found in all animal cells. Actin monomers have a molecular weight of ~42 kDa. For best results, use the anti-mouse IgM HRP conjugate supplied with the anti-actin antibody. Useful for normalizing protein loading. Antibodies should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.
