Physical form
Serum diluted in 250 mM NaCl, 10 mM PBS, pH 7.6.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute the lypohilized diluted serum in 1 ml sterile distilled water with occasional gentle mixing for at least 2 h at 4°C. Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C) for long-term storage or refrigerate (4°C) with 0.1% azide for short-term storage. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.
Other Notes
Normal sera are provided to be used as blocking agents in immunohistochemical procedures or as negative controls for undiluted serum/rabbit polyclonal antibodies from the Calbiochem brand. For use as a negative control, perform experiments in parallel using primary antibody and normal serum at the same concentrations. A signal obtained with the normal serum indicates a nonspecific interaction; any additional signal with the primary antibody indicates a specific antibody-antigen interaction. This antibody has also been reported to work for ELISA, flow cytometry, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation.
